When your teams are win it all or it's a bust, it's not all that great, it's been much more embarrassing. UNC just recently won their two and I was only 3 when they won the other when I was 3, didn't even care about them until I was 8/9), the Boys have won one playoff game since I was 6 years old and ole Pat Begley got me watching the Yankees when I was around 11 - so only one championship in my years watching them, which was last year, plus a handful of embarrassing moments like missing the playoffs and getting beat by the Sox after going up 3-0 and then suffering through two rings with that bunch.

Halladay gets it done though, throws a no-hitter! Pretty great moment, that atmosphere was crazy there obviously, I'd watch every baseball game if it was a fraction as exciting as that. I'm hard on baseball, but that was good stuff.

So basically you hung around other bandwagon fans and joined in? You can take the Yanks and Heels championships and put them together to equal more championships, tournament appearances, playoff appearances of most people's favorite teams combined. You have no room to gripe.

Only the Lakers were winners when I first started pulling for them. I'm a Cowboys fan, but the 80s weren't their kindest to the Boys. Nor was late 90s-early 00s. Been glad to see 3 SB titles though. I loved watching Magic move the ball around the floor and Dad was a Celtics fan, so it was nice to root against each other. The Braves, well I was a big Dale Murphy fan. I can't even point toward TBS as a reason, because we only had an antenna til I was in the 8th grade.

I just wish I could go back and time and pick at least one power house as a kid. How I ever got stuck with the group I did, I will never know.

The Yankees is the only one that could be considered bandwagoning, so I'll take jumping on that wagon when I was in the 6th grade a decade ago. Begley is far from bandwagoning, you should see Dr. Begleys house and the Yankee memorabilia in it , huge Yankee fans for longer than you and I have been around. Cowboys was because of my aunts old boyfriend when I was about 8/9, he loved them and got me loving them when he bought me a Dallas shirt. UNC was just worshiping MJ and anything that he was a part of when I was a kid.

Hell a lot of people on here have seen way more championships than I have. Biggin with Bama and the Spurs is more than the 3 I've seen with my teams since I've been a fan, plus the several Laker fans, some Duke fans, UT and Miami too.

The Reds and Redskins aren't that big of a head scratcher regionally. Maryland is the one I never have figured out from you.

I suffered thru years and years of mediocrity and terrible-ness as a Bama fan, losing to UT almost every year, having coaches leave or get fired (or not even coach a game), Albert Means, etc..
Alabama was far from where they are now when I started pulling for them.

Spurs because my brother was stationed in San Antiono and the Spurs were the first NBA team I saw live. I was a huge David Robinson fan, then Timmy D. The Spurs had a great run, but fans never rushed on the Spur bandwagon because of the style of play and the lack of big, flamboyant personalities.

I pull for Atlanta because my mom used to watch the Braves all the time, so naturally I fell into the Braves crowd. Been pretty lucky with them in terms of playoff appearances, but do you really want to be a Braves fan? You have no idea how horrible it is for your team to make the playoffs every year and only win 1 WS. Its much harder when your team loses in the NLCS on a walkoff HR or the WS after being up 2-1.

Im a Niners fan too, so I've seen my fair share of terrible teams.

In my lifetime, my teams have won 4 NBA titles, 1 NCAA football title (I was still really young in 92), 1 Super Bowl and 1 World Series.

I have been very fortunate, I cannot complain. But I don't see how I could possibly be classified as a bandwagon fan, all of my teams won titles after I began rooting for them.
